Mafia Crips

Gangster Crips is a gang often involved in crimes like thefts, killings, and drug dealing. It is one of the largest gangs in the United States. It was founded in Los Angeles by Raymond Washington, the original founder and by Stanley Williams, its co-founder.

Raymond Washington believed that fist fighting was the best way to resolve problems but when he died, firearms became widely used in the succeeding gang activities. Stanley Williams was convicted of four murders committed in the course of robberies and was eventually sentenced to death. While in his sentence, Stanley Williams gradually changed his behaviour and renounced his affiliation with the Gangster Crips. He even authored children's book themed around anti-gang and anti-violence to prevent youths from joining gangs. Also, a movie about his life was made starring Jamie Foxx as Stanley Williams.

Gangster Crips are known to wear the colour blue in their clothing. There was a time when a gang associated with the Crips called Piru Street Boys had a feud with other Crips set. The Piru Street Boys together with some enemy gangs of the gangster Crips formed a group called the bloods. The gangster Bloods are known to wear the colour red in their clothing.

One practice of Crips includes rapping. Some famous former Gangster Crips members or suspected to be part of the Crips are Snoop-dogg, Eazy-E, and Ice-T. They also created a dance move called the Crip walk. Clown walk is a variation of Crip walk but it is not associated with gangs. Clown and crown walk is abbreviated as C-walk. It has caused confusion because C-walk is based on the original Crip walk. Clown walk is the faster version and the crown walk is slower. Gang members also do graffiti along their neighbourhood. They also substitute and omit certain letters of the alphabet when speaking and writing.
